Prosecution's proverbial bosom caught in wringer?
Hankison Justice, Post 2 - Brett's attorneys file for new trial! PLUS, it’s deja vu all over again for the LMPD.
THIS JUST IN! Hankison's attorneys request new trial in Breonna Taylor case; say prosecutors misled jurors in their closing arguments about what other officers testified happened during the raid. Much more on WDRB.com/
Post below was written last week.
Hope has arrived; be on guard
A friend sent me a link to Pardon47.com, a website that seeks to

The DOJ has been dropping some lawsuits. Judge Jennings, a Trump appointee, has extended the date for Brett’s sentencing to April 8 from March 12. Brett has stated that despite the guilty verdict on one count, he has been feeling good.
This blog series will show good faith with conservatives and the upbeat news by presenting only a few more posts, probably in December. So much has already been explained; let’s all push ahead to undo the damage done by the Biden administration!
We can start by calling Joe Gerth, Courier-Journal Metro Columnist, to account. His accusations against Officer Dusten Dean who was in the thin blue line during the May 2020 Breonna Taylor ‘protests,’ underscore the C-J bias.
The picture collage shows current and past screenshots from the C-J and WLKY TV
Like Brett, Dusten has received many commendations— here is one example:
And as with Brett’s charges, the actual reason for Officer Dean’s actions are barely acknowledged— Let’s all face it: Dusten Dean must be punished for targeting those who were not breaking the law— that is, TV news reporters who placed themselves in the path of danger.
What were they supposed to do, have one of those big portable signs with flashing lights and a huge arrow on it that said, “WE’RE JOURNALISTS! DON’T SHOOT!"?
…Describing Dean as an “exemplary employee” in the years since the incident, Humphrey said the officer did not know the TV crew were journalists, perceived a light mounted on a camera to be a threat and “self-reported” his involvement after seeing widely circulated video of the incident.
But a Courier Journal review of nearly three hours of Dean’s body camera footage from that night showed more questionable actions that were not addressed by Humphrey. The actions also appeared to mirror concerns the US Department of Justice raised last year about how LMPD officers unconstitutionally used force during the 2020 protests against people who did not pose a threat. [emphasis added]
It’s the exact kind of abuse by police that prompted the U.S. Department of Justice to find that LMPD had systematically violated people's rights following an investigation initiated by the Biden administration.
And it shows the exact sort of person who shouldn’t be given a gun and a badge.
Hmmm. Now why was the C-J reviewing three hours of Officer Dean’s body camera footage? Stirring up a hornet’s nest for the ACLU to emphasize the grave importance of the Consent Decree for Louisville?
Let’s take a walk down memory lane — Quick! Find the people who did not pose a threat. Ask yourself, Could I distinguish between reporters and rioters in this situation?
From TV and C-J coverage of ‘protests’ | Titles from C-J slideshow: Scenes from a protest … A protester throws a rock at a Louisville Metro vehicle … Protesters try to flip a LMPD transport vehicle … Protester holds up the hand of Louis XVI after it was torn from the statue … Park bench set ablaze … Police confronted in their car … TV video shows protesters blocking traffic … A protester throws a rock
In contrast, here is a view to a peaceful protest.
Here and here are stories that report the LMPD officers were told to stand down, so they protested, peacefully. Please watch this video.
No end in sight
The media has forcefully called on Chief Humphrey to clearly state his position on Brett’s actions. Listen to his statement near the end of this video, (second video from the top of the page). And he has been bullied into reopening the investigation of Dean. Who’s calling the shots? Humphrey? We wish it were.
Furthermore, last month one of the 2020 ‘protesters’ was awarded $150K for her injury from a rubber bullet, and more rioters are lining up for their rewards.
A lawsuit centered on a Louisville woman who was shot in the face with a rubber bullet during a Breonna Taylor protest in May 2020 has been dismissed after the Louisville Metro Government agreed to pay a $150,000 settlement.
Attorney Ashlea Hellmann, who represented plaintiff Shannyn White in the case, said White is pleased Louisville Metro Government officials are recognizing the harm caused by the city's policing tactics during the Breonna Taylor protests after reaching the settlement in August.
Meanwhile, LMPD officers have been shamed and punished.
But the mainstream media reports we are getting closer to closure. Closure. ?
